The Fredericksburg Veterinary Clinic is owned and operated by Dr. Karla Juhl.

Our team features a great range of talented professionals. We love what we do and it shows!

Dr. Karla Juhl
Dr. Karla Juhl, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Karla Juhl grew up on a farm near Sumner, Iowa, and always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. After graduating from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, she worked at a mixed animal practice for two years before purchasing the Fredericksburg Veterinary Clinic from Dr. Harold Nordaas in September of 2012. She and her husband, Jarred have three children, Ella, Jack, and Jenna, and a Bernese Mountain Dog, Aubree.

Dr. Kristen Cuperus, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Kristen Cuperus has been with our clinic since June of 2019. She grew up on a farm near Fulda, Minnesota. Dr. Kristen attended the UW-La Crosse, then the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2017. She then practiced for 2 years in South Dakota where she worked primarily with cattle. She  lives on an acreage with her fiancé Sam, two dogs: Calamity & Lincoln, and two cats: Bane & Kevin. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Nichole Wurzer
Nichole Wurzer, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Nichole has been with our clinic since 2012, and a veterinary technician since 2014. She is originally from NE Iowa. She loves working with large animals and being there for pets and their owners during difficult times. She spends her free time with her three dogs: Stella, Wren and Rey. She also enjoys going to cattle shows with her family and trail riding.

Coral Njus, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Coral has been with our clinic since May 2016 after graduating from the Kirkwood Community College Veterinary Technician Program. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, her 2 dogs: Sky & Cannoli, and 2 cats: Smudge & Bit. She also enjoys kayaking and bicycling.

Kelsey Jencks, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Kelsey started at the clinic in 2017 as a veterinary assistant. In 2018, she moved to Cedar Rapids and attended Kirkwood Community College to obtain her veterinary technician degree and graduated in May 2020.  She is excited to be back at the clinic and in the small town atmosphere, helping owners and their pets.  Kelsey enjoys spending time with her pets, going for walks, and discovering new restaurants.

Professional Pet Stylist

Stacy has been with our clinic since 2014, and a professional groomer since 2003. Stacy enjoys spending time with friends, family and her three dogs: Madison, Makenzie, and River. In the summer. they are active outside paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming.

Kinze Richards

Veterinary Assistant

Kinze has been at our clinic since November 2017. She will graduate from the Northeast Iowa Community College Large Animal Veterinary Technician Program in the spring of 2021. She enjoys showing cattle and camping with her family, her dog, Dakota, and spending time with friends in her spare time.

Veterinary Assistant

Megan has been with our clinic since October 2019. She will graduate from Sumner-Fredericksburg High School in May of 2021. She enjoys showing Brown Swiss dairy cattle and spending time with her friends and family on the lake.

Kim Klinkel

Receptionist

Kim has been with our clinic since January 2013. Before joining Fredericksburg Vet Clinic, she was a receptionist at a mixed animal practice for over 4 years. She enjoys working with our clients and their pets. She has a cat, Oliver, a dog, Winnie, and a couple of horses. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Doug, their four children and seven grandchildren.
